SkyWest Plane With Landing Gear Trouble Makes Emergency Landing at LAX

A plane with dozens of passengers landed safely at LAX Monday despite being unable to deploy some of its landing gear, officials said.
The SkyWest Airlines plane with 43 people aboard reported “problems” as it approached the airport to land at about 8:30 a.m., LAX spokeswoman Katherine Alvarado confirmed.
The jet was unable to extend its left main landing gear before landing on runway 24L, Ian Gregor with the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The plane came to a stop with the landing gear still retracted and was immediately surrounded by emergency personnel, aerial video from Sky5 showed.
Passengers exiting the plane were being placed on busses, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The captain of the plane did not report any injuries, according to Gregor.
